Additionally we ensure that when we design our davits, each structure has a safety factor of 5 times that of the safe working load. The Simpson Davit range consists of davits which are designed to handle weights from 50kg(120lb) to 500kg(1200lb) and are used on the smallest dinghy or tender up to the largest sports or rescue craft. Simpson Davits also produces a complete range of fixed or folding gangways (passerelles), for boarding from quay or marina, or for use as steps or boarding ladders. Simpson Davits are manufactured in marine grade 316 stainless steel, and all moving parts of the winches are marine grade stainless steel and aluminium bronze. Our davits are then either hand-polished to a mirror finish or painted in durable white acrylic. In either case they offer a superb appearance and high resistance to the marine atmosphere.
